Source: News Bharati      Date: 11/13/2011 3:31:09 PM

Sree Parvathi Sewa NilayamSree Parvathi Seva Nilayam (SPSN) has become a ray of hope for mentally retarded people who have been left back on the road of life by their own. Established in the year 2000, situated on a wide area of half acre land at Choolissery in Thrissur district of Kerala, the centre has set a great example of selfless service towards this deprived section of the society.
A complete residential treatment is provided to mentally-retarded and disabled people so that they can lead a life filled with self respect. As the centre is located in a serene environment in lap of Mother Nature, it also helps in early recovery of the patients and gives them a peace of mind. Timely treatment and healthcare are the important aspects of the centre. Yoga, physiotherapy and meditation also form an important part of the daily curriculum. Hygienic food is provided so that their resistance power is increased.
Medical care: Social workers, registered nurses and people who have completed specialized agency training help inmates receive appropriate care and follow treatment plans. This usually includes assistance while consuming medicines as prescribed, attending scheduled medical appointments and coordinating services through case management. For people with severe developmental disabilities, daily medical care and 24-hour supervision is provided.
Sree Parvathi Sewa NilayamAnnapoorna Seva Yagnam: Annapoorna Seva Yagnam is a comprehensive project in which a certain quantity of rice is given to extremely impoverished people. Presently, the expenses for this are arranged by SPSN members from their pocket. However, SPSN is looking for philanthropist donors to support this noble cause.
Saraswati Seva Yagnam: Under this project, children from below average income family are benefited with books, bags and other associated essentials needed for their education. A few students are also given scholarships that cover their whole year's educational expenses.
