Mumbai police bans flying lanterns during Diwali to avert fire mishap

Following the request made by Mumbai fire brigade, Mumbai police has banned using flying lanterns this Diwali. The order was passed in order to avoid possible threats caused due to flying lanterns. Fire brigade received total of 217 calls in three years from 2013 to 2015 reporting fire mishaps.
